Farm, home & garden show is Saturday

The 25th Annual Rusk County Farm, Home and Garden and Sports Show, to be held Saturday, March 17 at Ladysmith High School, will feature dozens of local exhibitors, dealers, and industry representatives.

The event, which gets under way at 9:30 a.m. and continues until 3 p.m. is sponsored by AgStar Financial Services and the Rusk County Extension Office.

A lunch prepared by Nancy Lechleitner, compliments of show exhibitors and Agstar Financial Services, will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the cafeteria.

Some highlights of the farm show will include free blood pressure screenings provided by the Marshfield Clinic of Ladysmith and a petting zoo sponsored by the Deertail 4-H Club. There also will be exhibits from the fiber artists and the Rusk County Historical Society.

The Horse Project Committee will present “Horse Happenings,” with an opportunity for children to make mop ponies, and compete to display their horse knowledge in hippology events. They will also have a model horse raffle.

There will be 4-H demonstrations and seed planting by Master Gardeners all day. After lunch there will be a kids mini-tractor pull at 2 p.m. sponsored by Rusk County Farm Bureau.
