Two injured in crash near Lake Holcombe Two vehicles collided on Wis. 27 Monday morning, closing part of the highway to traffic as rescue workers cleared the scene.
The accident occurred at about 9:30 a.m. just north of 296th Avenue and about two miles north of Holcombe near the silver bridge crossing Lake Holcombe.
Adam L. Hunt, 17, of Radisson, was trapped and extricated from his vehicle.
John J. Osgood, 26, of Chippewa Falls, was not trapped.
Both drivers were transported for medical treatment.
The vehicle driven by Hunt was southbound on the highway when it veered across the center line, according to a Chippewa County Sheriff’s Department motor vehicle accident report. The vehicle driven by Osgood was northbound.
Both vehicles collided in the northbound lane, each receiving very severe damage, the report stated.
Hunt’s vehicle came to rest in the southbound lane. Osgood’s vehicle rolled and came to rest in the northbound lane.
Hunt was ticketed for not driving on the right half of the roadway.
Osgood also was ticketed for driving with a revoked license.
Both operators were ticketed for seatbelt violations.
