Five county supervisors face challengers in April There will be one primary race Feb. 16 for county supervisor, and five contests in the April 6 election.
The remainder of the Rusk County Board members were unchallenged after the deadline to file papers passed Tuesday afternoon and all but one, District 14 supervisor James Schultz. filed to run for re-election.
The filing deadline in that district will extend until Friday afternoon because Schultz did not file a declaration of non-candidacy and did not file to seek re-election. The extended deadline will not apply to Schultz, but only to any other parties interested in running.
A primary contest will take place in District 9 where incumbent Lyle Lieffring is challenged by Art Dixon and Duane Taylor. The two highest vote-getters in the primary will then battle it out for votes in the April election.
