John Mosher John W. “Bill” Mosher, 78, of Ladysmith, died Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2009, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, after battling cancer for several months.
Bill was born June 24, 1931, to Miriam and Francis in Ladysmith.
Bill never married, choosing instead to live with and care for his mother after the passing of his father.
Bill was an animal lover. He recently lost his companion cat “Tom.”
He was a people person with many friends and had a keen sense of humor, and always enjoyed spirited conversation. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Although he terminated his formal education after the eighth grade, he continued his schooling through his love of reading.
Bill worked as a retail clerk at several pharmacies in Ladysmith and at the County Market liquor store.
He was a life-long member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 2481 in Ladysmith for 31 years. He served as council treasurer for many years.
Bill is survived by his sister Vivian Hamerski of Milwaukee; his sister-in-law Doris of England; and his nephews Mark of England, David of Milwaukee, Kenn (Sharon) of East Troy and Richard of New York City.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Robert.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m., Sunday, Jan. 16, at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church with Deacon Doug Sorenson officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Ladysmith.
