Wendy Copas

Wendy Jo Copas, 47, of Ladysmith died Sunday, Jan. 17, 2010, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire after an 11-month battle with cancer.

Wendy was born Sept. 12, 1962 in Ladysmith to Don (Delores) Busse and Pauline Mallinson Busse. She married Paul G. Copas at Josie Creek on Dec. 22, 1979.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church.

Wendy enjoyed camping with her family. She was a very loved daughter, wife, mother and grandmother. She was a fighter since birth as the smallest baby born at 2.5 pounds in Rusk County in 1962. She was a strong woman who loved butterflies and angels.

Wendy is survived by her father Don; her husband Paul; her children Joshua (Sara) Copas of Ladysmith; her daughter Rebecca Jo Copas of Ladysmith; her grandchildren Courtney, Ethan, Dakota, Justin, Hayley Jo and twins on the way; and her brother Mark (Mary) Busse of Cornell.

She was preceded in death by her mother Pauline.

A funeral will be held Thursday, Jan. 21, at the Nash-Jackan Funeral Home in Ladysmith with a visitation at 10 a.m. and a memorial service at 11 a.m. with Linda Shearer officiating. The Nash-Jackan Funeral Home assisted with arrangements.
