Janet Nitek

Janet E. Nitek, 59, died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2010, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire after a five-year illness with COPD.

Janet was born March 15, 1950 in Ladysmith to Floyd and Elizabeth Guist. She married Henry Nitek at the Ladysmith Courthouse on Jan. 2, 1985.

She worked for Westlake Enterprises years ago. She also belonged to the Catholic Church.

Janet is survived by her son Casey DeRidder of Ladysmith and her daughter Betty Lou (DeRidder) DeJohn of Glen Flora; her brothers Rick Guist of Ladysmith, Joe Guist of Ladysmith, Mike Guist of Ladysmith, Jody Guist of Holcombe and Randy Guist of Tony; her sisters Mary Sarkissian of Ladysmith, Pat Potter of Ladysmith, Dixie Potter of Ladysmith and Janeane Styczinski of Tony; her three grandchildren; her great-grandchild and her step-children Cheryll Thurston, Penny Lowery, Rodney Nitek and Dawn Nitek.

She was preceded in death by her parents Floyd and Elizabeth; her husband Henry, her brother Jake; her sister Linda.

A memorial service for Janet will be planned at a later date.

The Nash-Jackan Funeral Home assisted with arrangements.
