Malcolm House Malcolm Joseph “Joe” House, 75, of Bryson City, N.C., formerly of Jacksonville, Fla., was called home December 17, 2009.
A native of Olean, N.Y., he was the son of the late Joseph and Grace Pitzrick House.
He was retired Chief Warrant Officer with the U.S. Navy, having served 22 years and was awarded several medals for his accomplishments by the U.S. Navy.
He was affiliated with the Episcopal church.
Malcom enjoyed woodworking and his pets. He was very loyal and giving to his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Evelyne J. House, the former Evelyne Edming of Glen Flora; two daughters, Karen Marie Orr (Greg) of Escondido, Calif. and Vicki Akins of Paradise, Calif.; one twin sister, Marilyn Joanne Busch of Lockport, N.Y. and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Debora Ann Clifford.
Funeral services were held at Crisp Funeral Home in Bryson City on
January 6, 2010. Burial was at Swain Memorial cemetery with a full military service.
