BHS grad, Spc. 4 Wayne Mortenson back from tour as infantryman in Iraq

Spc. 4 Wayne Mortenson, a 2002 Bruce High School graduate, is among National Guardsmen who have arrived in Wisconsin after serving in Iraq.

The son of Carla Mortenson of rural Bruce and Louis Mortenson of Medford, Wayne was greeted by his mother and his six-year-old daughter after he got off a plane at Volk Field, Camp Douglas, on Tuesday, Jan. 12.

“We watched him get off the plane and then had an hour and a half visit before the guys went on to Fort McCoy.”
