Richard Vobornik

Richard L. (Dick) Vobornik, 73, died Monday, Dec. 7, 2009, after a short battle with cancer while visiting his daughter’s home in Encinitas, Calif.

He was born April 26, 1936, at Ladysmith to Louis and Anna Vobornik. He lived in Rice Lake for 20 years.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Cecilia (Ceal); his sons Rick and Mark (Robin); his daughters Laurie Schwabe (Mike) and Krysti Brown (Andy); his 11 grandchildren Mellisa Vogh Carvalho (Zon), Justin Kingsbury, Tristian, Marke, Tabitha, Stephan and Derek Vobornik, Shea Schwabe, Devin, Dannii and Jake Brown; his great-granddaughter, Isabella Vobornik; his siblings Ruth Kopras (Edmund) and Judy Holzbauer (Bob).

He was preceded in death by his parents Louis and Anna.

A memorial mass is being planned for July 2, 2010, at St. Joseph’s Church in Rice Lake. Burial will be at the Veterans Cemetery in Spooner.
