Richard was born on Aug. 4, 1926, to Henry and Mabel (Kilgore) Theesfield in Ladysmith. Upon graduation from Ladysmith High School at age 17, he joined the Navy and served his country during WWII. Following his honorable discharge from the Navy, he met Rose Fosbinder, his wife of 59 years.

Richard and Rose moved to the Chicago area in 1951. While in Chicago he worked as a commercial painter for various contractors, retiring in 1983 from Jewel Companies.

Following his retirement, he and Rose moved to their home on Lake Holcombe, where he enjoyed fishing, gardening, and cheering on the Packers. Later, they moved to their home in Ladysmith.

Friends and family will remember Richard for his quick wit and entertaining stories. During his illness, his sense of humor never faded.

Richard is survived by his wife Rose; his daughters Cheryl (Scott) Moore and Corinne Palmere; his grandchildren Richard Moore, Robin (Rusty) Evans and Amanda Palmere; and his great-granddaughters Payton and Savannah. He is also survived by his sisters Mary Ellen (Allen) Moon and Janet (Fred) Daily; his sister-in-law Helen Theesfield and many special nieces and nephews.

Richard was preceded in death by his infant daughter Anne Marie; his parents Henry and Mabel Theesfield; and his older brother Henry.

Per Richard’s wishes, cremation rites have taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date in Wisconsin.
