Ladysmith schools to open their doors to the world this fall A marketing strategy for a new International Student Exchange Program has Ladysmith school officials believing students from other countries will soon be living and studying here.
The program is similar to a previous partnership between Ladysmith schools and Concordia Prep, when it operated at Mount Senario. Concordia students took elective classes the college could not provide at Ladysmith schools.
“The personnel here quickly realized that there was a win-win situation occurring. Their students were receiving an educational benefit and our students were receiving a cultural benefit and were being exposed to things culturally that we here couldn’t provide for them,” school district administrator Chris Poradish said.
More of this story appears in the Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010, issue of the Ladysmith News.
