Jeffrey Siverling Jeffrey Paul Siverling passed away Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010.
Jeffrey was born to parents Edith and Walter Siverling on Aug. 20, 1960, in Ladysmith. He graduated from high school early and served in the military for four years. He eloped with his sweetheart Cindy to a romantic wedding in Las Vegas Nevada on Oct. 30, 1990. They celebrated with family and friends at a staged hill billy shotgun wedding. They were married nearly 20 years and together for over 27 years. Life together was punctuated by love and laughter.
He loved the tranquility of the outdoors and enjoyed hobbies including reading, video gaming, hunting, fishing, woodworking, bowling, golfing and other activities too numerous to mention.
He remodeled and helped build several homes. He was good at engineering solutions to problem projects; he would say, “I’m just putzin.” He enjoyed treasure hunting at garage sales and would always haggle for a better deal. He loved animals and had many pets through the years.
He was a sportsman. Deer hunting season was one of his favorite times. He enjoyed a friendly competition to see who got the largest and smallest deer of the season. He won the coveted “Bambi” award several times. He was the youngest of ten children and loved to eat. His family would joke, “Get in line before Jeff or you won’t get any dinner.”
The military reinforced his sense of duty, honor, and family. He didn’t always speak his feelings, but showed his affection through his actions. He always made time for friends and family whether it was to tend a helping hand or enjoy a pot of coffee. He was considerate and patient. He paid special attention to the elderly, disabled, or lonely and had encouraging words for anyone who needed his quiet kindness. He loved the company of children especially his nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. His grandchildren loved his playful nature. They will greatly miss wrestling, video gaming, and snuggling with him. He gave family members the ability to realize we all have a time due.
Jeffrey is survived by his wife Cindy Siverling (Calkins) of Glen Flora; his daughter Sherri (Ray) Kortbein of Woodruff; his grandchildren Isaac Sagen, Jessica Kortbein and Katie Kortbein; his mother Edith Siverling (Hepfler) of Ladysmith; his father-in-law Robert Calkins of Glen Flora; his brothers and sisters Tom (Juanita) Siverling of Chippewa Falls, LouAnn Lybert of Ladysmith, Chuck Siverling of Ladysmith, Pat (Char) Siverling of Alexandria, Minn, Randy Siverling of Fairfield, Ohio; and many special aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends
