Chippewa County logging accident takes life of 34-year-old Conrath man A 34-year-old Conrath man lost his life in a logging accident Monday afternoon in Chippewa County.
The Chippewa County Sheriff’s office on Tuesday identified the victim as Anthony W. Knoll.

Burglary crimes rise in Ladysmith Luke Klink
The year of 2011 was a busy one for the Ladysmith Police Department, which responded to more than double the number of burglary calls last year than it did in 2010. It was also a busy year in 2011 for the Ladysmith Fire Department, which responded to about the same number of rural fire calls as the year before but an 86.8 percent spike in fire calls in the city.
