Fans and Leo Frigo (I-43) Bridge closure likely to clog local highways

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northeast Region in Green Bay is reminding motorists going to and from Lambeau Field on Sunday, December 8 for the Green Bay Packers/Atlanta Falcons football game will experience heavier than usual traffic due to the closure of the Leo Frigo (I-43) Bridge and construction on US 41 and WIS 29. Be prepared for orange barrels, narrow lanes, soft shoulders and increased volume from the Leo Frigo bridge closure to affect gameday travel.

Operation Safe Driver strives to prevent large-truck crashes

To prevent traffic crashes involving large trucks, buses and other commercial motor vehicles, Wisconsin State Patrol motor carrier inspectors will participate in Operation Safe Driver from Sunday, October 20 to Saturday, October 26.

Wisconsin’s freight rail system keeps the state’s economy on track

Governor Scott Walker has proclaimed October 7 to 13 Wisconsin Freight Rail Week. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) and the Transportation Development Association of Wisconsin (TDA) are teaming up to promote, educate and celebrate the freight rail system that contributes to the state’s economy, environment and quality of life.

Freight rail awards total nearly $11 million

Governor Scott Walker today approved four freight rail improvement projects totaling $10,967,417 in grants and loans. The goal of Wisconsin’s freight railroad assistance program is to increase the use of rail transportation and support economic development and job creation.
