The Price County Sheriff's office received a transferred 911 call from the Rusk County Sheriff's office at 1:47 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 12.

A town of Ogema resident reported his neighbor's house was on fire, and a child was still inside the residence.

Law enforcement, fire and EMS personnel responded and were unable to gain access to the residence as it was fully engulfed upon arrival.

The victim has been identified as a 4-year-old child who lived at the residence. The name of the child is not being released at this time.

The Price County Sheriff's office, Ogema, Kennan-Georgetown I Catawba-Harmony, Westboro and Rib Lake Fire Departments responded. Also responding were Prentice and Rib Lake Ambulance services, Price County Law Enforcement chaplains and the American Red Cross.

The fire remains under investigation by the Price County Sheriff's office, state Fire Marshal's office, Price County Coroner's office and Ogema Fire Department.
