Fatal crash

Emergency personnel respond to a three-vehicle crash in Washburn County. Brett W. Tyler, 23, of Chetek, was killed.

A Chetek man was killed, Sunday, in a three-vehicle crash near Shell Lake in Washburn County.

The crash occurred at 2:40 p.m., May 12, on Boot Lake Road, south of County B, in the town of Beaverbrook.

According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, a northbound pick-up truck collided into two southbound passenger cars.

The driver of one of the passenger cars, Brett W. Tyler, 23, of Chetek, received fatal injuries.

The driver of the pick-up truck, Donald D. Meyer, 51, of Chippewa Falls, received life-threatening injuries. Meyer was transported by North Aircare to Hennepin County Hospital.

The driver of the third passenger car, Trae A. Tyler, 24. of Rice Lake, received no injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by Wisconsin State Patrol.

Also responding were Spooner Police Department, Shell Lake Fire Department, Washburn County Sheriff’s Office, North Aircare and Spooner Fire Department.
