The Barron County Sheriff’s Department requested assistance from the Polk County Sheriff’s Department and the Department of Criminal Investigation on Saturday, Sept. 22 when stopping a vehicle in Polk County about an active drug case they were working.
During that stop, Luke Libner, 37 of Rice Lake, was taken into custody on suspicion of meth possession for possible charging in Polk County.
Libner was found in possession of 4 ounces of methamphetamine with a street value of about $5,000.
The Barron County Sheriff’s Department along with the Burnette County Sheriff Department then served a search warrant at a residence in Burnette County reference this case and one-quarter ounce of meth was located along with meth distribution material, plastic bags, packaging material and other items. Burnette County officers arrested two people at this location for various drug charges.
Another search was then done in Washburn County with the assistance of the Washburn County Sheriff’s Department, and a male subject was taken into custody on suspected drug-related activity including possession of meth and felon in possession of a firearm in connection with the Libner case.
