A popular gathering place near Conrath was destroyed by fire early Thursday.
Jimmy’s World Bar, N1745 Range Line Rd., in the town of Willard, was gutted by flames on June 27.
The bar is a total loss, according to Ladysmith Fire Chief Kyle Gibbs.
The cause of the fire is unknown, Gibbs said.
“It is still standing, but there is major damage,” Gibbs said.
The Ladysmith Fire Department was called out shortly after at 6 a.m. Soon after, mutual aid was requested from the Sheldon Fire Department for tankers and manpower. A portable pump was requested from the Bruce Fire Department.
A 911 caller reported the structure was “fully engulfed.”
The business was closed at the time of the tire call.
“The fire started in the northern part of the building in the bathroom areas,” Gibbs said.
The building roof was removed by Ringer Bulldozing with the owner’s consent.
Firefighters left the scene at 8:45 a.m., nearly three hours after the initial report of the fire.
There were no injuries.
The Rusk County Sheriff’s Department and Rusk County Ambulance Service Ladysmith Unit also responded.
