Ladysmith business owners coping through heavy duty road projects this year have found a constructive way of repaying their customers who pay them a visit.

The Construction Cash Give-Away is underway now with entry boxes in a dozen businesses on Worden, Fritz and Summit avenues. All three streets are undergoing major repairs this year, disrupting travel patterns and parking areas. Business owners want to remind everyone they are open throughout the construction season.

“It is important that we do as much as we can to support these small businesses in our community during the road construction projects,” Mayor Alan Christianson said. “All of our small businesses form the backbone of this community. The businesses in the construction zones are feeling additional strain this summer.  The road construction, while necessary, does reduce traffic to these businesses who still need to pay bills and make payroll.”

“The Construction Cash Giveaway is a way to reward folks for going in and patronizing businesses along the construction route. We are hopeful that businesses will see an increase in traffic,” Christianson said.

The grand prize is $150 cash. Second prize is $50 cash. Ten additional winners will receive a $10 gift certificate to a participating business.

Winners will be drawn in June and again in July, so there will be two $150 winners and two $50 winners . In addition, there will be 20 $10 certificate winners in total.

No purchase is necessary. Drop your name and telephone number in the registration box.
