On Saturday July 6, 2019, Doris Erickson, age 100, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones.
Doris was born in Ladysmith on April 14, 1919, the daughter of Hugh and Lillian Redmond. She was the oldest of four sisters, The Redmond Girls.
She was a long time and active member of Hope Lutheran Church, enjoying activities like quilting, Scandinavian dinners, the cookie walk and coordinating funeral dinners.
The last nine years she has lived a full life at the Ladysmith Community Care Center. Current events will never be the same without Doris reporting the news.
Doris is survived by her children, Nancy (Don) Wiles-Bartig of Ladysmith, Tom Scrivner of Overland Park, Kan. and Nicki (Mike) Osie of Cincinnati, Ohio and by her sister, Betty Peterson of Oregon. She was loved by grandchildren Doug (Paige) Wiles, Ben (Jessica) Wiles, Kathy (Joe) Holt, Jessica (Russ) Jorgensen, Amanda Schurman-Chard, Amy Schuh and Rebecca (Brent) Anderson. She also enjoyed the love and visits of her 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Erickson; her sisters, Marvel Clark and Beverly Kroening and her grandchildren, Alan Pfalzgraf and Sarah Siverling.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Wednesday, July 10, at Nash-Jackan Funeral Home. Services will be held at Hope Lutheran Church at 10 a.m., Thursday, July 11, with visitation one hour preceding the service.
