The 2018 Ladysmith Volleyball team has been awarded academic all-state as a team. The WVCA All-Academic Team Award, which is available to WVCA member-schools who excelled in the classroom throughout the entire 2018-19 school year.
To qualify, schools must fit the following criteria:
1. Schools must be an active WVCA member (2018-19 season membership).
2. Cumulative, year-long GPAs for all (and only) members of the varsity team must be available and accurate.
3. The team’s cumulative average for the entire year must be 3.400 or greater.
The Ladysmith Volleyball coaching staff is pleased to announce that the 2018 team has went above and beyond again by receiving the WVCA All-Academic TEAM award. This award is based on the ENTIRE year GPA of all varsity players. The cumulative average for the entire year must be 3.400 or greater.
This year’s eleven players earned a cumulative average of 3.8.
On behalf of all of the coaches, I am extremely proud of this group of eleven players. They are each unique and have truly excelled both on and off the court. I do not know of another sport that requires this criteria for the entire school year. What a great achievement.
Congratulations to Lauren Zimmer, Cassidy Stanger, Hannah Riegel, Courtney Boggs, Delaney Herbes, Emily Egle, Rian Engelhardt, Mady Clark, Faith Meltz, Brittney Wiles and Abby Meltz.
